I want to share with you how I got myself an NUS Student Discount Card even though I'm not a student.
I didn't know what I was going to write about today.
I've been a bit out of sorts.
Exactly a week ago my dad sadly passed away. He lost his battle after 4 weeks in intensive care.
All this whilst I myself am still recovering from my viral meningitis attack a couple of months ago.
Oh yes, last week I had a cyst removed from my back and was left with 6 stitches.
So I guess it's not surprising that I'm feeling the way I am.
This morning I decided that I'd like to go to Westfield Shopping Centre just to walk around.
I guess in the past I've used retail therapy when I've needed cheering up.
The only trouble is that I've put myself on a no shopping ban but I thought I'd be able to resist any temptation to buy anything I did not need.
Would I really be that strong?
I was already visualising going into the Tiger store to buy some reading glasses to replace the ones I sat on and broke at the weekend.
Good thing then that a sudden need to visit the little room and realising I had an upset tummy ...
Don't worry I won't get graphic ...
Meant it was probably not safe for me to go out.
Ok so what to do?
There were a number of things I could do mainly decluttering but I just wasn't in the mood.
After watching quite a bit of Netflix - I'm on season 4 episode 12 of Teen Wolf ...
I just love anything fantasy, sci fi, superheroey, supernatural (not horror) and I'm so so into box sets.
I guess I've wanted to do a bit of escaping too.
Anyway as I said today I'm feeling a bit out of sorts.
I thought I could write something on my blog.
I grabbed my egg timer and set it to 20 minutes.
I spent a few minutes thinking about what I wanted to share with you today.
I remembered that after reading Andy Webb's blog post "Not a student? Don't delay if you wan to take advantage of this loophole and get a student card" I tested it out for myself.
I was so pleased to get an NUS student discount card after his instructions that I shot a video and published it to YouTube.
I've already used my NUS card to make savings on a coach trip to visit my brother in Wales.
So today I thought I'd just share that video that I recorded back in April this year.
A big thank you to Andy Webb for sharing this.
The egg timer has just gone off.
That is a great strategy I use to get me motivated to get something done.
Do check out the video below if you're interested in how to get an NUS student discount card even if you're not a student.
I also suggest that you visit Andy's blog Be Clever With Your Cash because that is now my first go to if I'm looking for ways to save money.
